Asante Kotoko coach Charles Akonnor is confident of getting a positive result in Saturday’s Caf Confederation Cup clash with Kariobangi Sharks.

The 24-time Ghanaian champions touched down in Nairobi on Tuesday for their first round tie against Kenya’s representatives Sharks. The first leg will be played at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani with the return leg set for Accra on Christmas eve.

Veteran tactician Akonnor acknowledged that Sharks is a quality team and hinted he will be all out to frustrate them. The trainer steered clear of the lively social media banter between the club that has dominated the build up.

"We are going to play a Kenyan club that is very confident and tough. They score almost in every match and are a threat but what is important at the moment is how we stop that and frustrate them. Of course, the clash will not be decided in Nairobi because there is another game we will host in Kumasi. We are just here to play one half," he said.

Sharks come into this tie with an impressive record of three wins and a draw scoring 11 goals and conceding only two in all competitions this season.
