Kariobangi Sharks on the verge of first round qualification

A confident Kariobangi Sharks is not taking chances ahead of their Caf Confederations Cup prelimanry round second leg against Djibouti’s Arta Solar set for Djibouty stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Buoyed by their Kenya Premier League Super Cup success, Sharks have one foot in the next round after their resounding 6-1 victory in Nairobi last week.
Sharks tactician William Muluya has urged his charges not to be complacent in the return leg. “I want my boys to give their best in Djibouti. We can only finish the job after 90 minutes, but most importantly they should enjoy themselves out there,” he said.
Muluya is pleased with his striking force composed of Ugandan George Abege and rookie Sydney Lokale, whose lone goal handed them the Super Cup, despite the absence of injured Eric Kapaito.
Midfielder Duke Abuya, who claimed a brace in the first leg, is most likely to be handed another starting berth alongside marauding Kenyan international winger Harrison Mwendwa as Abege leads the attacking line.
Barring any surprise, Sharks will face Ghananian giants Asante Kotoko who had an easy way into the first round after Cameroon officials failed to submit their representatives on time.
A 20-man Kariobangi Sharks team left for Djibouti via Addis Ababa on Monday and had a feel of the match venue yesterday afternoon. South Sudanese referee Gait Oting will handle the tie assisted by compatriots George Oting and Abdalla Gassim.
