Tunisia made it easy for us - Hazard

Tunisia's need to win and attacking approach made it easy for Belgium to pick them off in their World Cup Group G clash, according to Eden Hazard.

Hazard netted twice, as did Romelu Lukaku, with Michy Batshuayi adding a late effort as Roberto Martinez's men strolled to a 5-2 success in Moscow to move to the brink of qualification for the last 16.

Tunisia are all but out, though, having adopted a front-foot strategy that ultimately proved foolhardy.

Chelsea forward Hazard, who was named the man of the match, said: "I think the match was easy because we scored after five minutes and we knew Tunisia needed to win and would leave spaces and would be open.

"Our strength was to counter and move upfield very quickly. This enabled us to score five goals."
Lukaku pulled level with Cristiano Ronaldo on four goals in the race to land the Golden Boot, having become the first man since Diego Maradona in 1986 to score twice in consecutive World Cup games.

And Hazard was fulsome in his praise of the Manchester United striker.

"I think the guy deserves everything," he added. "He works hard in training, he's scoring a lot of goals and we are winning games.

"We are in a good moment playing together, we are stronger when we play together. When we pass to him in front of goal, he never misses."

Hazard was taken off with the points in the bag, with Martinez later revealing the 27-year-old has a minor niggle in his calf.

"I felt it in the first half," said Hazard, "but it is not something big."
