Big fields enter weekend tourneys

What you need to know:

  • Ruiru Sports Club will be the venue for the Ruiru Classic where over 150 players are draw.

  • Royal Nairobi will meanwhile be all green as the par 72 host the Green technology golf tournament which has attracted over 200 players.

Whilst the battle for the surviving players enters its half way stage in the KCB Karen Masters at Karen Country Club, it will be action as usually on the local golf scene where over a dozen events are on this weekend at various clubs in the country.

Among the events listed for this weekend are the Fresha Purified Drinking Water tournament at Kiambu sponsored by Githunguri Dairy. The 18-hole stableford event has attracted a field of 128 players.

As usual, all the club’s leading golfers such as John Ngure, Mike Ngene, and veteran David Ndirangu will be in action.

In Nyeri, a big field was drawn for the Hon Mwangi Kiunjuri golf tournament sponsored by the Cabinet Secretary. At Thika Sports Club, action starts with the Golf Challenge by the club Vice Chairman and Friends while on Sunday, it will be the ladies turn as they play for their medal.
