Kenya Open to hold 50th birthday party

The Kenya Open Golf Limited (KOGL) will on Friday celebrate 50 years of the Kenya Open Golf Championship at the Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi.

The party includes a golf tournament followed by a gala dinner at the same venue later in the evening.

The golf tournament will tee-off at 7:48am and at 11:40am for the morning and afternoon sessions respectively with the last four-ball teeing off at 1:32pm.

Among the notable names expected to play are former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, legislators Amos Kimunya, Charles Kibiru, Kanini Kega and Barclays Bank of Kenya chief executive Jeremy Awori.

Also teeing off are KOGL chairman Peter Kanyago, Kenya Open Golf Championship tournament director, Patrick Obath and Kenya Golf Union chairman Richard Wanjalla.

The day’s events will culminate in the gala dinner at the same venue which is expected to be graced by Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa as chief guest.
