Lewis Hamilton cruised to victory in the French Grand Prix on Sunday and took over at the top of the world championship standings.

Four-time champion Hamilton, in a Mercedes, finished ahead of Max Verstappen in a Red Bull and Ferrari's Kimi Räikkonen after starting from pole.

Previous series leader Sebastian Vettel was only fifth in his Ferrari.
