Speeding Onkar Rai won the Chloride Exide-sponsored Hill Climb race in Naivasha on Sunday smashing the three-kilometre course record.
Driving a Skoda Fabia in the 4WD category Rai recorded a scorching time to grab the mantle of Hill Climb king.
“I am extremely happy to have won the event. It is a great feeling to beat the mzee (Ian Duncan) on a this particular course which proved really competitive. I really enjoyed myself," Rai told Nation Sport.
Famed rally driver Duncan, set the second fastest time in Mitsubishi Lancer EVO10.
“The young fellow (Rai) drove brilliantly. I am happy for him though I tried my best in the car which is now for sale to any anyone interested," said Duncan, a former Safari Rally champion and multiple winner of the Kenya National Rally Championship. Tejvir Rai recorded the third best time while Shivam Vinayak was the fastest in the Bike Category and fourth overall.
