Carl Tundo on Saturday won Rallye Sport Club Rally after winning three out of four stages of the competition.

The former National and Safari Rally Champion was among 16 drivers who managed to complete the rescheduled competition. Saturday’s rally witnessed the cancellation of two of the original six sections.

Stage Three, which was to be repeated, was cancelled as drivers had complained that it was too rough and not safe for cars.

Reigning African Rally champion, Manvir Baryan, finished second in a Skoda Fabia car. He was 34 seconds behind the Mitsubishi Lancer EvoX of car of Tundo at the end of the fourth round of the 2018 Kenya National Rally Championship.

Kenya National Rally Championship series leader Baldev Chager finished third, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer EvoX car. Nikhil Sachania was happy to guide his specially-made Mitsubishi Lancer EvoX car to ninth place overall.

"We are happy to have finished the rally. The stages were fine, and our car also behaved well," said Sachania.

Eric Bengi raced to a second consecutive fifth place in a Subaru Impreza, having also wound up fifth in the Safari Rally. Hamza Anwar, son of the former rally driver Asad Anwar, won the National Formula Two Class by finishing in the 12th place in a Toyota Sprinter.

It remains to be seen whether drivers who finished the race will be awarded KNRC points as the event failed to achieve a minimum competitive distance of 150km required by the National Competition Rules (Article 18.1.3c).
