  • The international Polo Tournament is an annual event which marks the climax of the Kenyan polo season.
  • As is tradition, the tournament has been organized over two weekends, with this first weekend being the six-goals tournament (for teams with a collective handicap of six), which curtain raises for next weekend's mouth watering 14-goal tournament, which is open for elite players whose collective handicap must reach 14.

Afrika Aviation and Whitecap teams Saturday stormed the final of the Kenya International Polo six-goals international tournament to set up a mouth watering final set for Sunday

Afrika Aviation beat MICT (Mombasa Island Cargo Terminal) 9-6.5 in the first semi final played at the Nairobi Polo Club main ground, while Whitecap managed a narrow 7.5-7 win over Governor's Camp in the second semi final that was tightly contested.

Aviation, which is comprised of Gareth Evans (5), Nick Millar (0.5), Aisha Gross (0.5) and Georgina Millar ((0), stunned the star-studded MICT team that boasted elite players captained by South African International Buster McKenzie (4)

Nick Millar, who scored four goals in Afrika Aviation's triumph, was over the moon after the victory, and he said that he is eagerly looking forward to Sunday's final.

"The semi-final against MICT was so much fun because our teams were very well matched in terms of strength and personnel.

"I prefer to play against teams whose cumulative handicap is more than five so I guess that's why today's game was so enjoyable.

"I was in the Samurai team that beat RJ Polo to win this tournament last year and I'm really looking forward to winning the tournament a second consecutive time," Millar said.
