Dominant Team Kenya rule the track at Eala Games

  • Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, popularly known as “Kawaya” ruled the 100m track.
  • In 800 metres men, speedy Laikipia MP Patrick Mariru finished second followed in third by his Baringo Central counterpart.

Team Kenya deposed Uganda as the East African Legislatives Assembly (Eala) Games athletics champions at the Stade Olympique in Bujumbura, Burundi on Saturday.

Kenya dominated almost all the athletics disciplines as their Members of Parliament light up the stadium in Bujumbura.

Kenyans did a clean sweep of the 4 by 400 metres men’s race, 4 by 100 men, won men’s 100 metres, men’s and women’s walking race.

They also took the men’s and women’s tug of war.

The victorious men’s 4 by 400 relay team had Webuye MP Dan Wanyama plus his Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka, Mwingi South MP Charles Ngusya Nguna and Homabay Senator Moses Kajwang.

Team Kenya women’s tug-of-war team captained by Kakamega County MP Elsie Muhanda ran over all before them.

Others in the side were MPs Jane Chebaibai, Janet Nangabo, Ruweida Obo, Florence Chemngetich, Lydia Haika, Joyce Kamene, Eva Obara and, Senator Naomi Shihonga.
