Team Kenya dethroned Uganda in Bujumbura, Burundi to become the new East African Legislative Assembly Games overall winners.
Team Kenya dominated in athletics grabbing the discipline's title with the country's Members of Parliament ruling the running track in Bujumbura where the games concluded on Monday.
Kenya also clinched the golf title after beating their only opponents Uganda by 101 points to 92.
Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka received the certificate of participation on behalf of Team Kenya during the closing gala dinner at Mt Zion beach hotel.
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and his Deputy Moses Cheboi attended the games to help inspire the Kenya team.
Kenya's golf team was led by Kanini Kega and consisted of Caleb Kositany, Senator Charles Kibiru, Mugambi Rundiiki and Senator Njeru Ndwiga.
Kega posted 36 points, Kositany came second with 33 while Kibiru posted 32 points. Mugambi and Ndwiga had 29 and 24 points respectively.
Uganda team was led by Asumwe Evelyn who posted 34 points, Otto Odongo 30 points, Ivan Koreta 28 points, Katooto Hatib 24 points and Hon Mwine Sheila 21 points.
It is in athletics where Kenya's legislators showed they came from the country of champions.
Kenya swept clean the 4 by 400 men's race in addition to triumphing in the men's 100 metres and men’s and women's walking race.

In the 200m men, it was the turn of Langata MP Nixon Korir to shift up the gears to edge compatriot, the industrious Wanyama to gold.
