All-Kenyan final? Kwale, Nginda out to progress in girls football

IN MUSANZE, RWANDA
It will be a Kenya versus Uganda affair on Saturday in girls' football semi-finals on day seven of the Brookside East Africa Secondary School Games.
Kenyan champions Kwale Girls will be up against Mukono in the first semi as Nginda Girls take on Uganda's Kawempe Muslim in the other last four encounter.
A win for the Kenyan sides will seal a home final on Sunday at the Ubworoherane Stadium. Kenya's third side Archbishop Njenga crashed out of the competition after finishing third in pool A.
Kenya won the girls' football title last year through Wiyeta Girls, who edged out Kawempe Muslim 3-1 on post- match penalties in the final in Gulu, Uganda.
Kwale Girls' star player Elizabeth Katungwa is confident they can go all the way as they seek to reach a maiden final.
"We are playing at our first regional competition and reaching the semis is a remarkable achievement already. We have the opportunity to go one better and promise to fight," the forward said yesterday.
In boys' volleyball, Kenya's Malava Boys will be up against Christ Roi of Rwanda in the semis as champions Rusumo take on compatriots Don Bosco in the other last four encounter.
