The 200 meters Individual medley, butterfly senior, 50 meters junior and 50 metres backstroke categories are among the races to be competed in.

Stiff competition is expected in the 200meters individual medley girls’ category, where the reigning Kisumu County champion Antoinette Achieng of Jalaram, will face off with her arch- rival Wendy Akinyi of Chemelil Academy.

Achieng clocked 3.33 seconds to claim the county's crown, leaving Akinyi to settle for the second position in 4:42 seconds.

In the boys’ category, Kisumu County will be represented by John Kennedy of Kisumu Senior and Hughes Onsongo of Chemelil Academy.

Nicole Kowida of Kisumu Girls and Faith Nyota of Lwak Girls will be looking to produce a good showing and book a slot in the national competition in the butterfly senior event, having triumphed at the county level.

In the 50 metres butterfly junior category, Cindy Moraa of Braeburn International hopes to dominate but will face stiff opposition from Kisumu Girls' Ulifat Anut.

Moraa clocked 52 seconds, while Anut was second in one minute, to book a slot at the Nyanza region meeting.

In the 50 metres boys’ backstroke, Dhilan Petel and George Gumba will be favourites.

The events’ secretary, Tom Odhiambo said all preparations were complete and that they are hoping for a "good time "for the period of the games.
