Amonde returns as Kenya 7s squad for Sydney, Hamilton named

  • Regular captain Oscar Ayodi will miss these two legs as he recovers from an ankle injury sustained in Cape Town.

Former Kenya Sevens skippers Andrew Amonde has been named in the travelling squad for Hamilton and Sydney legs of the 2017/2018 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

The KCB hardman will link up with Kabras Sugar duo of Dan Sikuta and Brian Tanga in the Kenya team seeking consistency and better performance. Head Coach Innocent 'Namcos' Simiyu has retained the bulk of the team that took part in the opening two legs of the series in Dubai and Cape Town.

Oscar Ayodi will miss these two legs as he recovers from an ankle injury sustained in Cape Town. The team will be captained by Nakuru RFC’s Oscar Ouma and assisted by Impala Saracens’s Sammy Oliech.

Menengai Oilers’ Sam Muregi will welcome his teammate Eric Ombasa as he makes his debut for Shujaa. Other players on the plane to Down Under are regulars Willy Ambaka and Eden Agero both from Kenya Harlequin, Homeboyz RFC pair of Jeff Oluoch and Augustine Lugonzo, Nelson Oyoo (Nakuru) and Arthur Owira (KCB).
