MENENGAI CLAIM CHALLENGE TROPHY

Menengai Oilers thrashed Kisii 15-0 to lift Challenge Trophy.

Homeboyz head coach Paul Murunga attributed their victory to the inclusion of the likes Kenya Sevens players skipper Oscar Ayodi and Augustine Lugonzo, and Zeden Maro in the squad.

"Changing the line up but still going through to win unbeaten shows strong character from the boys, " said Murunga. "Ayodi and Lugonzo's vast experience made the difference."

However, Murunga cautioned his charges from complacency saying there is still a battle in the remaining three legs.

Homeboyz are due to defend their Driftwood Sevens title in Mombasa on Saturday. They will later seek to defend Dala Sevens in Kisumu and later capture Christie Sevens title in Nairobi.

"We hope to maintain the momentum since our target is to win all the legs this season," said Murunga, who is set to unleash Kenya Sevens starts Bush Mwale and Jeff Oluoch in the next legs.

Nakuru head coach Mitch Ocholla praised his charges for staging an improved show to reach their first Cup final this season. "This is the first time we reached the final after falling in the Cup quarters in Nakuru and Eldoret," said Ocholla.
