Kenya Sevens face Mike Friday’s United States in a tough Pool “B” at Singapore Sevens due April 28-29 at the National Stadium.

Besides USA, who are the USA Sevens champions, Kenya, who have reached the Cup final twice this season in Canada and Hong Kong, will meet France and England in what has declared the "Pool of Death.”

Kenya, who are currently in Australia for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, are placed seventh in the 2017/2018 World Rugby Sevens Series, with 83 points.

Kenya, who won the Singapore Sevens in 2016, lost to Fiji 24-12 at Hong Kong Sevens final on Sunday to collect 19 points, which saw them swap places with England. The Britons got one point for finishing last in Hong Kong.

USA, who have only missed reaching the Cup quarterfinals twice this season in Dubai and South Africa, went on to win in USA 7s before finishing fourth in Australia and Canada respectively.

MET TWICE

Kenya and USA have met twice this season where they drew 19-19 in the pool stage in New Zealand. Kenya would claim the scalp of USA, beating Friday's charges 24-19 in the Cup semi-finals in Canada before failing the test 31-12 against Fiji in the Cup final.

Kenya and France have met four times this season and share the spoils, having won two matches each all in the pool statues. Kenya lost to the Frenchmen 21-14 and 19-14 in South Africa and USA respectively but won 17-14 and 14-7 in Australia and Canada in that order.

Kenya have met England once this season at Cup quarters in Canada where they triumphed 12-0 on their way to stunning USA in the semis before meeting a waterloo against Fiji.

Finishing above USA and England in Singapore could see Kenya pull away from England as well as dislodge USA from the sixth spot.

Fiji, winners in New Zealand, Canada and Hong Kong, have an easy Pool “A” outing against Spain, Russia and Japan in Singapore.

Series leaders and defending champions South Africa will play Argentina, Singapore Sevens champion Canada and Samoa in Pool “C” while New Zealand, Scotland, Australia and Wales will battle in Pool “D”.
