Kenya Sevens started their Singapore Sevens campaign on wrong footing, losing to England 28-19 at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Tries from Collins Injera with late rallies from William Ambaka and Nelson Oyoo failed to rescue Kenya from the Britons defeat with Dan Norton's double going them then an edge.

Injera put Kenya ahead with his 255th try after powerful run through tackles.

Norton would easily find his way through Kenya’s porous defence to score a brace of tries that Tom Mitchell converted to lead 14-5 at the break.

Alex Davis' try that Daniel Bibby converted extended England’s lead to 21-5 before Ambaka's strike that reduced the deficit at 21-12.

Oliver Lindsay-Hague dealt Kenya another blow to as Mitchell converted for a 28-12 lead.

However, some slick offload from Kenya saw Oyoo finish it off for Agero to convert but it was too late for the 2016 Singapore Sevens champions to salvage anything from the match.
