The 2000 champions Kenya Morans crushed Namibia 38-5 to reach the semi-finals of Safari Sevens at the RFUEA grounds on Sunday.

Three tries in either half saw Morans, who led 19-5 at the break, inch closer to their second Cup victory.

Timothy Mmasi tore through Namibia's defence for Morans' opening try before Eliakim Kichoi claimed the restart ball to land. Mark Kwemoi made one conversion to give Morans a 12-0 lead.

Then Carlton Hillario caught Morans' defence napping to break through the middle before offloading to Nandivatu Karuuombe to score and bring Namibia back to the game.

However, Morans suffered a knock-on but would claim a turnover before Vincent Onyala sneaked through to score. Kwemoi converted for 19-5 lead at the break.

After the break, skipper Samuel Motari gave Namibia defender a smashing hand-off then raced on the left wing to score before Ronnie Omondi sliced through the middle for another try.

Kwemoi made the conversions for a 31-5 lead before Arcadius Kwesa landed his maiden try to seal the semis place for Morans. Kwemoi added the extras.

Morans now face the 2015 champions Samurai International in the semi-finals at 3.02pm.

Samurai stopped battling National Seven Series champions Homeboyz 19-7 for a date with the Morans.

In Morans and Samurai Semi-final showdown, Kenya Sevens deputy coach Kevin "Bling" Wambua noted that Samurai is a quality side hence they will need to match them in all facets of play.

"What will help us is that we have had tough matches unlike Samurai," offered Wambua.
