Kenya Sevens technical bench has made slight tweak to their squad that will take part in this year’s Cape Town Sevens set for this weekend.

Jeff Oluoch has flown home after the opening HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series leg in Dubai last weekend as KCB’s Vincent Onyalla and Homeboyz flyer Cyprian Kuto join the team in Cape Town.

It’s however not clear who between the two additions will be the 13th player.

Eric Ogweno, Kenya Sevens team manager, says that Oluoch had to fly back home to attend to personal issues. “It’s unfortunate that we won’t have Jeff in Cape Town but we believe that Cyprian and Onyalla will provide adequate cover in the tournament,” he told Nation Sport on Wednesday.

Oluoch was arguably Kenya’s best player in Dubai where the team lost all their matches finishing at the bottom of the log with a paltry one point. In South Africa, they are drawn in Pool C alongside Fiji, France and England.

The team, skippered by Eden Agero, will be hoping to post their first win of the season in Cape Town as it undergoes a transitional phase. The squad is missing a number of senior players, who have been in France with Kenya Simbas in their failed attempt to qualify for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
