Kenya Lionesses fall to favourites New Zealand

Kenya Lionesses on Thursday lost their first match of the 2018 Dubai Sevens 34-7 against hot favourites New Zealand.

Alena Saili, Kelly Brazier, World Sevens Player of the Year Michaela Blyde scored in the first half to give the defending champions a 24-0 half tme lead.

Kenya responded strongly in the second with good ball movement freeing Grace Auma to land under the posts. The Top Fry Nakuru flyhalf converted her own try.

New Zealand had the last laugh as they scored two more tries through Rsi Pouri-Lane and Gray Broughton. Kenya will meet Russia and Ireland in their next pool matches later on Thursday.
