Kenya’s top table tennis player Brian Mutua will undergo a three-month high-level training in Denmark from September.

Mutua, who represented Kenya at the ITTF Africa World Cup Qualifiers in March in Nairobi and Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in April, will have a chance to play against some of the best players in the World.

Kenya Table Tennis Association (KTTA) president Andrew Mudibo, who is back in the country after attending the International Table Tennis Federation board meeting last weekend in Halmstad, Sweden disclosed that Mutua will also play in the Danish League.

“By getting to play with top players from all over the world, we hope Mutua will be able to open the doors for more Kenyan players to be able to join professional clubs in Europe,” said Mudibo.

Peter Theuri, Josiah Wandera and Alikhan Kaiza have also benefited from similar experience in France.

“The training in Europe is top notch and I am sure it will definitely improve my game considering that I will play some of the world’s top players,” said the 19-year-old Physical Science student the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Up and coming Mutua lost in the group stages at the Commonwealth Games but showed his immense potential.
