Marauding jumbo attacks KWS rangers in Kajire area, Voi
Two KWS rangers are nursing injuries at the Moi Hospital in Voi after they were attacked by an elephant in Kajire area in Voi sub-county.
One ranger suffered a fracture on his right hand, and the other on his left leg.
The two were part of an operation to drive out trouble elephants that had ventured into the villages.
The area has reported an increase in the cases of human elephant conflict, as the animals move from the protected areas and into the neighboring community in search of food and water.
The long dry season has increased competition for resources between communities and wildlife in the area.
