EALA members blame weak institutions for failure to enforce sanctions
Members of the East African Legislative Assembly EALA are blaming weak institutions for the failure to enforce sanctions against partner states which do not implement laid down laws and protocols.
The legislators say relevant institutions have failed to totally eliminate the Trade barriers despite the enactment of a law to that effect. The MPs who spoke after touring the Port of Mombasa also called on the East Africa Community member states to put mechanisms in place towards the realization of a single currency. The legislators are on a two-week assesment tour of institutions and facilities of the EAC along the Northern corridor, from Mombasa to Kigali.
