Hundreds of Muslim youth who have fallen prey to extremism and radical teachings will be de-radicalised after a new ultra-modern mosque and madrasa was unveiled to help fight radicalization.
Unveiling the places of worship on Sunday, the East Africa Sufi Council chairman Sheikh Abdulkadir Al-Ahdal urged Muslim faithful and preachers to use mosques and madrasas to spread and preach counter extremism narratives.
Sheikh Al-Ahdal said Masjitul Zawiya Qadiriya which was opened in Majengo will be used to fight extremism.
He urged Muslim religious leaders and scholars to promote the true teachings of Islam and help in fighting radicalisation among the youths.
