Police in Murang’a County have arrested suspected drug peddlers and intercepted bhang with a street value of 50,000 shillings. The bhang which was heavily compressed and stacked in a bag weighed 10kg. The bhang was destined for Maragua which has become a hub for traffickers from Namanga. According to Murang’a county commissioner John Elungata, the two suspects were arrested after a dramatic police chase. He said security agencies had received a tip-off that led to the arrest of the two, who they described as notorious. Elung’ata warned cartels that security agencies in the county will remain on high alert adding that the security agencies have managed to eradicate illicit brew. He commended the police officers involved in the sting operation saying in a span of two weeks they had managed two arrest four people. The two suspects denied possession of the drugs.
