Govt suspends NCPB regional managers amid allegations of malpractice in buying of cereals
Albin Sang has been appointed as the Acting Managing Director at the National Cereals and Produce Board, replacing Newton Terer who resigned last week. Dr. Richard Lesiyampe, the Principal Secretary for the State Department For Crops Development, announced changes which included the appointment of Mutea Iringo as the Chairman of the board, following a special board meeting that was held earlier today. Over 50 staff have been suspended at NCPB pending investigations into the irregular sale of maize to its depots that was done at the expense of thousands of farmers.
