I have survived cancer twice, Ruth Wanjiku
Ruth Wanjiku describes how her view of life and cancer has changed after her bone and lung cancer diagnosis.
"I've been blessed with opportunities I never thought I would get, especially to fight for the plight of cancer patients and survivors. I would never have done so without my diagnosis. Now, I know everything about cancer that sometimes I see myself as a doctor. (Laughs). I had no prior knowledge about it before my diagnosis. When I was amputated, I thought that was the end of treatmen. I did not bother asking about chemotherapy and radiotherapy."
