MP Mark Nyamita urges farmers in Migori not to abandon sugarcane farming
Uriri MP Mark Nyamita calls on farmers in Migori not to abandon sugarcane farming in spite of the myriad of challenges facing the sector. The legislator maintains that all stakeholders need to come together and discuss the plight of farmers and find solutions instead of letting farmers abandon the crop, which he argues is the mainstay of the region.
The MP also appeals to leaders in Migori county to support the World Bank project aimed to upgrade three towns in the county. A section of leaders, especially from Kuria, has faulted the choice of Migori, Awendo and Rongo towns as the beneficiaries of the Sh 516 million project. The leaders claim certain regions have unfairly been left out of the project.
