Ferdinand Waititu freed from police custody
Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was on Thursday evening released from police custody after a court granted him Sh500,000 anticipatory bail.
Kiambu Principal Magistrate Brian Khaemba ordered the governor to present himself alongside his lawyers to a police station.
Mr Waititu was arrested in Nairobi as the anti-corruption watchdog investigates corruption in his government.
Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) took away the outspoken county boss after more than six hours of interrogation and search at his Runda home.
