The sh4.2 bn state funded Malindi-Sala Gate road is almost complete
Construction of the Malindi-Sala Gate road project, which links Malindi town and Tsavo East National Park, is 93 percent complete.
The road infrastructure project will ease connectivity and attract international tourists and investors to the Kenyan Coast.
The Sh4.2 billion State-funded road, which President Uhuru Kenyatta launched in 2016, is expected to boost tourism in Kilifi and Taita-Taveta counties.
Tarmacking of the 117 kilometers Malindi-Sala Gate road brings hope to the tourism sector as it links Malindi seaside resort town to Tsavo East National Park in Taita Taveta County.
Most of the tourists who throng Malindi use the road to tour Tsavo for game drives as it is a shorter route than Malindi-Mombasa highway.
