Machakos residents benefit from NGAAF distributed water tanks
Thousands of thirsty Machakos county residents have something to smile after the Machakos NGAAF distributed water tanks to women and youth groups across the county. The timely water tank distribution comes on the onset of the October-December rains and will enable the residents to harvest rainwater from their roofs. Machakos county member of parliament Joyce Kamene Kasimbi has urged the government to continue aiding the national government affirmative action fund under the patronage of county women legislators. Speaking over the weekend during a launch of Machakos water tank project, in Machakos golf club Kamene said the fund has helped marginalized groups, and there is need to reach more people. She lamented the high number of needy people in the villages waiting to benefit from the limited resources, saying there is a need to increase the NGAAF funding to ensure more people get empowered. She was flagged by Kathiani member of parliament Rober Mbui and his Masinga counterpart Joshua Mwalyo.
