Uhuru meets security chiefs
President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday met and held talks with the country’s top security chiefs.
During the meeting that was also attended by Deputy President-elect William Ruto, the security chiefs briefed him on the nation’s security situation.
The security bosses were led by the Head of the Public Service and Secretary to the cabinet Francis Kimemia and Internal Security Permanent Secretary Mutea Iringo.
Among those present were the Chief of Defence Forces General Julius Karangi, Inspector General of the police Service David Kimaiyo and National Intelligence Security Service Director-General Michael Gichangi.
The meeting comes after the President-elect met envoys from China, India, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Ethiopia and South Sudan who delivered messages of goodwill from their governments.
